In order to meet the stringent requirements for materials in engineering applications, material systems and composites have been introduced, studied, and developed widely over the last decades. Composite material systems appear to be good candidates for applications such as smart materials and structures, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), bio-medical devices, superconducting devices, magnetic fusion reactors, aerospace structures and others. Design and development of advanced devices and structures require basic research on mechanics of material systems. Our primary research interests are in the areas of mesomechanics of electromagnetic material systems and structures, electromagnetic fracture mechanics, dynamics and cryomechanics of advanced composite materials. All aspects (theoretical, experimental, computational studies and/or industrial applications) of electro-magneto-mechanics and cryomechanics are considered.
